To Stage or Not To Stage
The pros, the cons, and everything in between,
When you are thinking of listing your house for sale, many people may suggest that you stage your home. What does this entail? Well, it can be played out a number of ways. If you watch a lot of HGTV, and home reno shows, you'll be aware of how staging can change the look of a home.
One option for staging is doing a full home furniture rental stage package. This can completely change the look of your home to be polished, and trendy. It can be an amazing transformation, but there are a couple of downsides to this route.
the costs for this type of staging package can run into the thousands of dollars. These fees are usually billed on a monthly basis until the home sells.
Living with rented furniture can be a stressful situation, especially if you have younger children.
There are costs incurred with storing your own furnishings, etc.
A second option is one of my available services through Decor Diva. I offer a home staging package, for $400. This includes working with your furniture and accessories, and creating a fresh space for your upcoming listing. This process consists of three hours of working together, to edit, reposition, and stage your home. A list of recommended suggestions will be reviewed with the home owner, and a checklist-style report will be left to complete before moving forward with the listing. It is recommended that this type of service be booked previous to listing and having property photos done.
